A 7-day, 6-night rejuvenation programme at Somatheeram Ayurvedic Health Resort in Kovalam, Kerala. The Rejuvenation Package is designed primarily for relaxation, revitalisation and improving general wellbeing, rather than intensive detoxification or Panchakarma, and includes treatments such as Abhyangam (Ayurvedic full-body massage), Shirodhara, herbal steam treatments and herbal applications, generally around 90–120 minutes per day. As with any Ayurveda programme, the resident doctor determines the exact therapies after consultation, and the plan may be adjusted according to your individual condition and response.
Arrive at Trivandrum International Airport (Thiruvananthapuram) and transfer to Somatheeram Ayurvedic Health Resort. For stays of 7 days or longer, airport transfers to and from Trivandrum are included according to the resort’s package information.
After check-in, enjoy a welcome and resort orientation, settle into your accommodation, and relax. You then meet the Ayurvedic doctor for a detailed consultation and examination, an assessment of your constitution/doshas, and a discussion of your lifestyle, sleep, diet and general wellbeing, from which a personalised treatment and diet plan is prepared.
If the doctor approves, the first treatment may be a gentle full-body oil massage (Abhyanga), with the oil selected according to your individual requirements. In the evening, relax at the resort, enjoy the Ayurvedic dinner and take an early rest.
The day begins with the resort’s wellness routine — gentle yoga, meditation/relaxation and an Ayurvedic breakfast.
Your treatment session follows, with a doctor-prescribed Ayurvedic massage such as Abhyanga or another suitable oil treatment, plus herbal or steam therapy where prescribed. Rest is encouraged afterwards so the body can relax.
Breakfast, lunch and dinner follow your Ayurvedic dietary plan, as Ayurvedic full board is part of the treatment package. The evening is free to enjoy the peaceful surroundings, beach area or resort facilities.
By Day 3 the programme becomes more focused on your individualised rejuvenation routine: morning yoga, meditation and an Ayurvedic breakfast, followed by a full-body oil massage or another doctor-prescribed therapy, a herbal steam bath, and herbal applications where appropriate.
Depending on your individual plan, treatments may include therapies such as Lepanam or Njavarakizhi, which are among the treatments frequently associated with the Rejuvenation Package.
The afternoon is kept for rest, light leisure activities and beach or resort relaxation, followed by an Ayurvedic dinner and an evening of relaxation or meditation.
One of the most relaxing stages of the programme. Morning yoga, meditation and an Ayurvedic breakfast are followed by an Ayurvedic oil massage, Shirodhara when prescribed by the doctor, and possible herbal steam therapy.
Shirodhara is a treatment in which a warm liquid, traditionally an herbal oil preparation, is gently poured over the forehead, and it is identified as one of the highlights of the Rejuvenation Package. After treatment, you normally have time to rest and enjoy the resort’s tranquil environment.
Morning yoga and meditation and an Ayurvedic breakfast are followed by a treatment session with a doctor-prescribed Ayurvedic massage, herbal treatment or steam therapy, a possible facial or herbal application, and continued rejuvenation therapy.
The purpose is not aggressive cleansing: the Rejuvenation Package is not a Panchakarma purification treatment, and its primary focus is wellbeing and revitalisation. The afternoon is kept for rest and relaxation, leisure at the resort, and optional gentle beach time if permitted by the doctor.
The sixth day continues the treatment cycle and lets you settle further into the Ayurvedic routine: morning yoga, meditation and an Ayurvedic breakfast, followed by a personalised massage, Shirodhara or another therapy if prescribed, and herbal steam or application where appropriate.
The wellness routine continues with Ayurvedic meals, adequate rest, relaxation, and avoiding strenuous activities unless approved by the doctor. Treatment plans stay individualised, with daily doctor consultations to monitor how you respond.
The final day focuses on completing the wellness stay: a final yoga/meditation session, breakfast, and a final Ayurvedic treatment if included in your individual schedule.
The Ayurvedic doctor then holds a final consultation, reviewing your response to the treatments, general wellbeing, treatment results, and diet and lifestyle recommendations, with suggestions for continuing an Ayurvedic routine after returning home. This includes advice on incorporating relevant aspects of the treatment into everyday life, along with a personal final report.
After check-out, transfer to Trivandrum International Airport can be arranged/included for eligible stays of 7 days or more.
This is a wellness programme rather than a fixed medical prescription. The resident Ayurveda physician determines the exact therapies, duration and medicines after consultation. Guests with medical conditions, pregnancy, recent surgery, or those on regular prescription medicines should disclose this to the physician before beginning treatment.
