Your luxury rail experience begins in Delhi. Guests board the Maharajas’ Express and settle into their luxurious cabins. After the welcome and introduction to the journey, the train begins its journey towards Agra.
The evening is spent enjoying the train’s hospitality, dining and the changing landscapes outside the windows.
Agra is home to one of India’s most famous monuments – the Taj Mahal. The Agra excursion allows guests to explore this extraordinary Mughal monument and experience the architectural heritage of the city.
The day combines sightseeing with the comfort of returning to the luxury train for meals and relaxation.
The journey continues towards Ranthambore, famous for its national park and wildlife. Guests have an opportunity to experience a wildlife safari / game drive, with the possibility of seeing animals in their natural surroundings.
Ranthambore adds a completely different dimension to the journey after the architectural heritage of Agra.
The train continues to the Pink City. One of the principal attractions is Amber Fort, an impressive hilltop fort representing Jaipur’s royal heritage.
The Jaipur experience allows travellers to explore Rajasthan’s architecture, history and royal traditions, combined with a refined dining experience associated with the luxury train journey.
Next comes Bikaner, another historic city of Rajasthan. The excursion introduces guests to the city’s royal heritage, including Junagarh Fort.
The experience can then continue towards the desert landscape, where guests can enjoy an evening surrounded by the atmosphere of Rajasthan’s desert country.
The train reaches Jodhpur, the famous Blue City. The major highlight is Mehrangarh Fort, one of the city’s most spectacular historic landmarks.
Guests can also experience the traditional atmosphere of Jodhpur through local markets and the old city.
The journey continues to the romantic city of Udaipur, known for its lakes and palaces. A visit to Lake Pichola and the City Palace provides a fitting final Rajasthan experience.

A magnificent journey from Mumbai to Delhi through Rajasthan, finishing with Agra and the Taj Mahal. It combines palaces, forts, wildlife, desert culture, Mughal architecture and India’s most famous monument.
The journey begins in Mumbai. Guests receive a traditional welcome and journey briefing before boarding the Maharajas’ Express. The train departs Mumbai and begins its journey towards Rajasthan.
Arrive in the beautiful City of Lakes. The sightseeing experience includes a boat ride on Lake Pichola, the City Palace, the Crystal Gallery and a royal heritage experience.
Lunch is served at a heritage palace setting before returning to the train.
The next destination is Jodhpur. Explore Mehrangarh Fort, the Old Clock Tower Market and the local streets and traditional atmosphere.
The experience also includes a local tuk-tuk ride and an evening dining experience.
Continue towards Bikaner and visit Junagarh Fort, an important historical monument representing the royal heritage of Bikaner.

The final major sightseeing highlight is Agra. Visit the magnificent Taj Mahal, one of India’s most recognizable monuments.
After the Agra excursion, return to the train for the final journey towards New Delhi, where the Maharajas’ Express journey concludes.

Different from the Rajasthan-focused journeys, the Indian Panorama combines Rajasthan, Mughal heritage, Madhya Pradesh and Varanasi – ideal for travellers who want a broader cross-section of India’s culture and history.
Begin your luxury journey in Delhi. Board the Maharajas’ Express and settle into your cabin before the train departs.
Arrive in Jaipur and explore the Pink City. The principal excursion includes Amber Fort, providing an introduction to Rajasthan’s royal architecture. Return to the train and continue your luxury rail journey.
The day combines two very different experiences. First, experience Ranthambore and its wildlife environment. Later, continue to Fatehpur Sikri, the historic Mughal city.
This makes the day a combination of wildlife and architectural heritage.
Continue to Agra and visit the Taj Mahal – one of the defining experiences of the journey.
The day provides an opportunity to appreciate Mughal architecture and the history of Agra before returning to the train.
The journey then moves into Madhya Pradesh. Visit Orchha, known for its historic architecture and monuments.
Continue to Khajuraho, famous for its extraordinary temple architecture and detailed stone carvings, including the Western Group of Temples.
The journey reaches one of India’s oldest and most spiritually significant cities. The experience can include the Ganga experience and Ganga Aarti, traditional cultural experiences, Sarnath and the Silk Weaving Centre (Banarasi silk traditions).
This gives the journey a very different character from the royal palaces and forts of Rajasthan.
After completing the Varanasi experience, the luxury train returns towards Delhi. The journey concludes in New Delhi, completing a circuit through Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh.
Delhi – Agra – Ranthambore – Jaipur – Delhi
The compact option for a shorter Maharajas’ Express experience, covering three major experiences: Taj Mahal, wildlife and Jaipur.
The journey begins at Delhi’s Safdarjung Railway Station. Guests receive a royal welcome and board the Maharajas’ Express. Breakfast is served onboard as the train travels towards Agra.
The major attraction is the Taj Mahal. After sightseeing, return to the train and enjoy the luxury dining and onboard hospitality.
The train continues towards Ranthambore. The major experience is a wildlife safari / game drive – Ranthambore is particularly known for its wildlife landscape and tiger habitat.
After the safari, return to the train and continue your journey.
The final destination is Jaipur. Explore the Pink City’s royal heritage, particularly Amber Fort. Depending on the scheduled excursion, guests may also experience Jaipur’s markets, architecture and cultural atmosphere.
Return to the train for the final evening onboard.
Enjoy breakfast onboard as the train travels back towards Delhi. The journey concludes in Delhi.
