Delhi

Today you will arrive at Delhi’s International Airport. Following customs, immigration formalities and baggage collection, our office representative will meet you as you exit the arrivals terminal building and transfer you to your hotel.

Delhi is India’s capital and a major gateway to the country. It is a bustling metropolis, which successfully combines in its folds – the ancient with the modern. Amidst the fast spiraling skyscrapers the remnants of a bygone time in the form of its many monuments stand as silent reminders to the region’s ancient legacy. Overnight at Hotel             

After breakfast, transfer to Airport. Arrive Guwahati, on your arrival meet your driver at the airport and head towards hotel. On arrival check into rooms. Later we shall visit the most important Hindu pilgrim site and a major religious landmark of the city – Kamakhya Temple build in reverence of Goddess Kamakhya or Sati one of the various incarnations of Goddess Durga or Goddess Shakti.

If time permits visit, we shall go for an hour sunset river cruise on the mighty Brahmaputra River (subjected to availability and river conditions). Overnight at Hotel  

This morning we shall head towards – once the summer capital of the British officers based in Assam. Visit Don Bosco Centre for Indigenous Cultures (DBCIC) is a unique venture of the Salesians of Don Bosco in North East India to develop expert facilities for the preservation and promotion of numerous beautiful and diverse indigenous cultures of the region, of India in particular and in communion with indigenous cultures anywhere in the world.

Later visit some of the Mawphlang Sacred Forest – these forest are the where the Khasi customs and traditions have been woven into the land and the forests. Overnight at Hotel  

Head towards Cherrapunjee. On arrival visit Seven Sisters Waterfalls it has seven different waterfalls that are strategically arranged side by side on a high, rugged cliff, and looks very significant even from a distance, Nahkhalikai Falls – Plunging from a height of 1115 feet amidst evergreen rainforests is one of the finest examples of nature’s splendour. The waterfall, which is famed for being the world’s fourth-tallest plunge waterfall,

Mwasmai Cave – is only a distance of 150 meters is open for tourists, while the other section is closed. The stalactites and stalagmites caves have innumerable forms, shapes and sizes inside leaving one to imagine as many life forms as possible. This magnificent natural wonder is the handiwork of years of natural abrasion and underground water. Kho Ramhah Rock or Motrop to see a single gigantic cone shaped rock formation and Arwah cave. Overnight at Hotel  

After a leisure breakfast check out from hotel and transfer to Kaziranga National Park – an UNESCO World heritage site and the home of the World famous One Horned Rhinos. On arrival check into hotel for overnight stay. Overnight at Hotel  

Early morning we will explore the park on Elephant back – Elephant ride is the best way to behold the vigour and charm of the enchanting wildlife of the park.

Afternoon we will go for a jeep safari in the western range of the park – The western zone is the most preferred tourism zone in Kaziranga for the jeep safari as the landscape of this zone provides the opportunity to get the very close sight of the one-horned Rhino. Overnight at Hotel  

Morning we shall go for a round of jeep safari in the park. Later check out from hotel and head towards ferry boarding point. On arrival to Jorhat check into hotel. Overnight at Hotel  

Cross the Brahmaputra River to reach the Majuli – assumed to the largest river Island in world, which also stands to the cultural capital of Assam ever since 16th century.

Majuli is located on the river Brahmaputra in Assam and is formed by Brahmaputra in the south and the Kherkutia Xuti joined by the river Subansiri in the north. Making you feel at peace with nature, it is home to many migratory birds. Located 1100 km away from the mouth of the Brahmaputra, Majuli had an area of 1256 sq km in 1991 but due to soil erosion, it has now reduced to 875 sq km. Majuli has been the cultural capital of the Assamese civilization since the 16th century and its main village, Naghmar, hosts all the important events, festivals and prayers. A good learning center for neo-Vaishnavite philosophy, there are 22 Vaishnava Satras in the city, the first of which was established in the 15th century by Sankaradeva, the father of Assamese culture.

 

Explore the island by visiting the Anuati sattras (monasteries) & Uttar – Kamalabari sattras (monasteries). Interact with the monks and visit monk’s quarter. We shall also visit Mishing tribal village a major inhabitant of the island followed by a visit to pottery making village and mask making village. Overnight at Hotel

After breakfast drive towards Dibrugarh en-route we will stop at the heritage at the capital of Assam and ancient Ahom kingdom capital and visit the Shiva Dol built by the Ahoms, situated here is believed to be the tallest of all existing Hindu temples. Followed by visit to Rang Ghar – largest and the oldest amphitheatre of Asia is also another remarkable landmark in the history of Sivasagar. Later visit Talat Ghar –has three storeys that are underground (closed for tourists) and four above the ground. The ground floor had store rooms, stables and servant quarters, while the upper floors were for the royal family.

On arrival to Dibrugarh check into hotel. Evening on your own. Overnight at Hotel

This morning an excursion to Namphake village (Tai Phake tribe village). Visit village of Tai Phake tribe and Namphake Buddhist Temple.

Later visit Centenary Oil Museum at Digboi (visit is subjected to operation) where one the see the detailed history of the Oil Industry in India. We shall also visit the Digboi Golf Course – one of the finest golf courses in India. Overnight at Hotel  

After breakfast check out from hotel and transfer to Dibrugarh airport to board flight to Delhi.

On arrival at Delhi Airport, transfer to hotel. Rest of the day free for personal activities. Overnight at Hotel   

Breakfast at Hotel. On time transfer to Airport to board flight to Back Home.
